Miles To Go Before I Sleep

Hi! I’m Yochai Greenfeld (He/Him), multi hyphenated artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Currently touring the U.S and Europe as The Blanche in the Golden Girls. My recent theater credits include roles such as Yoni/Emcee in "Holilanders” (IAP), Shaya in the Off-Broadway premiere of the “Imported Bridegroom” musical (Yi♡Jewish), Boaz in “Borders” (Dirty Laundry Theater), Nachum in the Broadway Tour of “Fiddler on The Roof” (NETworks) and Snoopy in the National Tour of “Charlie Brown Christmas Special Live” (Gershwin).

My playwright debut - “It Gets Bitter” - one-act dramedy designed for a Drag Queen and pianist, had the privilege of premiering at the “Queer Jewish Arts Festival” in Baltimore MD during the summer of 2022.

I began my artistic career as a company dancer in Israel, eventually moving towards Theater, musicals, screen and Drag. My schooling journey commenced at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and I continued to refine my stage crafts with Musical Theater coach Eidan Lipper and vocal coach Kat Witchen. Recently, I’ve honed my on-screen skills at “The Studio” TLV and Heidi Marshal's Studio.

In 2019, I had the honor of being a fellow at LABA - A Lab for Jewish Culture, where I cultivated my original work, 'It Gets Bitter.' This poignant piece, based on my own experiences, blossomed into my playwright debut in 2022. Additionally, I've been the recipient of the Gesher Foundation screenwriters grant in 2020 and was selected for the Hanoch Levin Playwright fellowship in Tel Aviv in 2023.

I'm also a content writer and marketing manager, working for Mechon Hadar, a New York City and Jerusalem-based non-profit dedicated to cultivating Jewish communities around Israel and the U.S. This role has been a rewarding opportunity to engage with the rich tapestry of Jewish culture and community, which were all an essential part of my upbringing.

I hold a B.A in Psychology from the Open University and spent two years studying Lacanian Psychoanalysis. Additionally, I have dedicated two and a half years to Judaic studies at a Yeshivah, and keep immersing myself in the endless troves of Jewish liturarute and wisdom. I'm an autodidactic language enthusiast, making my way through Spanish, French, and Yiddish.

Thank you for visiting my page, and I look forward to sharing my art, my experiences, and my continued journey with you.
